Music Ministry

On the 11th, our church once again had the opportunity to minister to the elderly - this time at Wheatstate Manor.  The pictures didn't turn out too well as the lighting wasn't good, but here's what we have.

The youngest children (with help from a couple of the older ones) sang the B-I-B-L-E

They really seemed to be blessed, especially when we took the time to talk with them.

Afterward, we all went to the Busenitz's farm for dinner a games.
We enjoyed an interesting game (don't know the name of it) that everyone participated in. :-)

Mom

This is a belated post - her birthday was on the 19th (Saturday).
Happy Birthday Mom!

Time with friends.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Beautiful Days

Aside from it being a little chilly today, we've been enjoying such beautiful weather of late. As a result, most everyone has been spending a lot more time outdoors. It seems a little early for spring, but we're not complaining!

Enjoying the warm, afternoon sunshine and some good reading :-)
(I think Remington has enjoyed the extra action outdoors and the resulting extra attention he gets.)
Mark & Josiah helped Trevor work on the roof of his tack shed.
(Notice the bare-feet - they're true Bergen's. ;-)

Our Western Cowboy

Trevor was temporarily storing his saddle in our basement while he was working on his tack shed. The result... John had a REAL saddle to ride! Now he was a real "western cowboy"(in his own words ;-).

He put his stick horse under the saddle, put on his cowboy gear, and with a little imagination entertained himself for hours!
A rather handsome cowboy huh?!
"Howdy partner."
Then, he decided a stationary horse just didn't quiet cut it! ;-)

In Memory...

... Of One Year Ago

February 28, 2010, early Sunday morning, our beloved father & grandfather went home to be with the Lord.  In some ways it's hard to believe it's been a whole year... those few last days with him seem yet so vivid in our minds!  In other ways, there have been so many adjustments... we've missed him SO MUCH!

Care Home Music Ministry

Last Tuesday, our church had the opportunity to minister through music to the elderly at a care home. It was neat to be able to serve together in this way, and we're looking forward to future opportunities. :-)

"Praise the Lord with the harp...

...make music to him...

...Sing to Him a new song...

...play skillfully...

...and shout for joy."
~ Psalm 33:2-3 ~

Afterward, some of us went out for BBQ at Famous Dave's where we enjoyed their trash-can lid Tuesday special.
Enjoying each others fellowship while waiting for our meal.

Mmmm... scrumptious!!!!

Winter Weather!

We've had some interesting KS weather of late. We've gone from record low temps and snow accumulation last week to record high temps yesterday and today! Last week, we had a winter storm dump 17-18 inches of snow on us - all within 36 hrs! The last couple of days, we've enjoyed temps in the upper 70's... barefoot and short-sleeve weather!!!

The wind and snow created some neat looking drifts that hung off our roof.

We got some pretty big drifts in front of the house... it was so pretty. :-)
We watched the snow as it piled up on top of the porch railing!
Remo & Remington keeping each other company as the snow kept falling.
Gathered snow ready to be transformed into a winter treat - snow ice-cream... yum. ;-p
The kids were excited about having enough snow to make a fort.

This picture was taken on Sunday after it had started to warm up; note that Emily is in short sleeves!!

And this is what we enjoyed today...!!!
