July 4th

On July 4th, our church had our worship service and independence celebration on the Busenitz farm.

Susanna K. (not in the picture), Bethany, I (Kara), & Traci B. played instruments for our morning worship service.

Despite the rain, we all had a great time... at least we weren't baking in the heat!
Most of us enjoyed several "wet" games of volleyball.

Matthew in great form. :-)

Some of the younger ones, who weren't playing ball, enjoyed the hay-bales.

I guess Micah K. didn't think Josiah was getting wet enough!

There was a long enough break in the rain that we were able to do a treasure hunt that Mrs. Busenitz had put together. The Hobbs & Stange families had joined our party in time to participate.
Enjoying some refreshment in the garage, while the clues and treasure were being hidden.

Susanna H., John, & Bethany waiting for some of their teammates to return with their next clue.

The "Rough Riders" searching for their next clue

We had to go online for one of our clues.
The "Yankee Doodle Dandies"

The "Green Mountain Boys"

The Dads visiting while they grilled our hamburgers for dinner.

We had some mighty big appetites by dinner-time ;-)

Enjoying some foosball

The young ladies enjoyed some fellowship inside while the guys were outside blowing things up (imagine that ;-).

Several of us enjoyed rides in Mr. Busenitz's Model A car.
John, Kara, & Leah K.

Katelyn S. & Mr. Smith (who was clearly having a blast driving it;-).

Susanna K. & Bethany

Our tired, yet happy boy at the end of the day.

Thank you Busenitz Family for hosting the wonderful day - we all had a blast!

Randoms of June

John helping Trevor paint.

Justin's family moved to Colorado (Justin's dream state)
In front of their home in Valley Center the morning they left.

We had them over one last time before they moved. :-(
Braxton loved the farm puzzle that made animal sounds.

smile ;-)

Showing Braxton how to turn on the semi truck.

Braxton thought it was great fun riding the semi truck.

One afternoon, the boys went exploring in an old barn with the Busenitz boys.  I tried to talk Trevor into letting me take his senior pictures there, but he wasn't interested in going clear out there just for a couple of pictures.  Guys and pictures...

On evening we went bowling with some friends.

John playing ball with Ethan.

Go Emily!

One day, the boys helped Miah Busenitz brand his calves. At one point they took a break and had their own rodeo.

Mark, Matthew, & Ben

Rid'em cowboy!!

Matthew has recently gotten into RC, so one day they went out to Uncle Dan's who was able to give him some tips.

The kids pitted 11 gallons of cherries within a week. Hum-mm!

::More Bowling::
For my birthday we all went out and bowled as a family. It was supposed to be a surprise, but I had figured it out.

Look out for John!!
