Family Christmas

Everyone insisted we take our family picture outside since there was snow! What you don't see is our teeth chattering ;-)

Braxton's First Christmas

How many people does it take to make coffee?!!!

Justin was showing us how one of his christmas presents (a coffee press) worked.  Ryan and Kara said it made really good coffee!

John loves his new blanket ;-)  You will notice by all the pictures of John that he received a lot of  "John Deere" items.  He has quiet a collection of tractors, combines, & trailers... and yes, they're all "John Deere"! :-)

John and Braxton with their matching balls!

Ryan's gag gift to Kara!!!

Bullet earrings! The boys say they are 223s! Kara says they are way too heavy to wear, so don't expect to see her wearing them ;-)

So WHO ate all the peppernuts?!!!!

Braxton's famous face... he loves to sing. :-)

Playing a new game (a christmas gift).

Isaac Christmas

On Christmas morning we ventured out at 6am and traveled to Meade to visit my Grandpa & Grandma Isaac and family. We had been concerned the previous day that the roads may be bad, but the Lord granted us good roads; although it was very windy!! Of course, the day was full of playing table games - a favorite pass time for the Isaac side of the family.

Some of the uncles and boy cousins are playing "Settlers of Catan".

Uncle Bill brought a box of puzzles that he challenged us to put together. Unfortunately, he forgot the solutions paper and some didn't get solved!

Visiting around the table after indulging in a scrumptious mashed potatoes, ham, & turkey dinner.

Matthew volunteered to clean out the jello pan!!! Kara made her famous rainbow jello salad that was a big hit!!!!

The younger cousins enjoying Christmas dinner!

Some of the cousins and uncles playing "Risk" and "Carcazone."
Starting at the left: Todd Isaac, Dayne Taylor, Uncle Rick, Charisma Isaac, Matthew, Uncle Bill, Ryan, Tyler Isaac, and Mark

Us girl cousins playing "Dominoes."

The aunts and grandma even squeezed in a game. They played a new game called "Ticket to Ride".
Ok, can you tell we like German games;-)

Five Generations

This past Saturday, Dad and  some of the younger kids went to go visit our Great-Grandpa Sexton to take a five generation picture with Justin and Braxton. That is very special for Braxton as not many people get to see their Great-Great-Grandpa. Grandpa Sexton was very excited to see Braxton; although he had no idea who he was.

At Thanksgiving, Dad's Aunt Jan read this poem. (At this point in time Great-Grandpa can't put names to faces, but he does at times seem to recognize a familiar face.)

Do not ask me to remember.
Don't try to make me understand.
Let me rest and know you're with me.
Kiss my cheek and hold my hand.

I'm confused beyond your concept.
I am sad and sick and lost.
All I know is that I need you
to be with me at all cost.

Do not lose your patience with me.
Do not scold or curse or cry.
I can't help the way I'm acting,
Can't be different 'though I try.

Just remember that I need you,
That the best of me is gone.
Please don't fail to stand beside me,
Love me 'til my life is done.

5 Generations
Great-Grandpa Sexton, Grandma Bergen (Delores Sexton), Dad, Justin, & Braxton

Great-Grandpa seems to be having a conversation with Braxton!

Braxton with his Grandpa's

Braxton was definitely the center of attention!

Braxton came home with Dad and the kids to spend the evening with us, while Justin and Laura went out for dinner.  Of course, we all had fun spoiling him!!!!

Ok, so how many people does it take to feed Braxton?;-)

Braxton never has a lack of attention around here;-)

John sharing his tractor with Braxton.  Notice what John has in his hand (trailer)... he was trying to show Braxton what a tractor was really for. I don't think he ever got the idea;-)

Goofing around;-)
