A couple of weeks ago Trevor was walking past the bee hives and noticed that the bees were getting ready to swarm. For those of you who don't know anything about honey bees they swarmed because the hive had gotten too crowded. They swarmed just on the other side of the hedge up in the trees. Trevor was able to recover them and make another hive!!
Here they're getting ready to swarm.

The queen is somewhere in there.
Trevor put a special scent in an empty hive box. This scent is what the bees supposedly put off that tell them it is a safe home.
It wasn't windy enough for the bees to find the empty hive on the ground so Trevor got out the fork lift to raise it up right next to them.
Now we wait to see if it will work!! I crawled up to the top to take a couple of pics ;-)
For some reason they would not go into the hive so Trevor and Matthew got up there and cut the branch with the bees on it off and put the whole thing in the hive box.

Here's a video of the exciting event!!
