Family Vacation

Day Four

On Wednesday, we spent the whole day at Silver Dollar City.

Kara and Bethany got the whole "Electro Spin" to themselves.

John's favorite activity was the balls at "Geyser Gulch".

Emily and Ashley are showing John how the vacuum works! At first he was reluctant to use it!

John would ride this ride, "Wings of Wonder", as long as we promised to keep it on the ground! Kara was the lucky one he chose to ride with him :-)

Kara got to play violin with Violet H. She is 94 years old and still playing and making violins! She has been at Silver Dollar City for the Fall Festival for 40+ years and has never missed a day!

"PowderKeg" is a roller coaster that launches from 0 to 53 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds and hits speeds up to 64 mph. John could not even handle seeing the kids go on this one!!! All it took was him watching a couple of them blast off, and he thought they were gone forever :-(

Tuesday, September 22nd

Family Vacation

Branson, Missouri

Day three

On Tuesday, we were all recovering from a hard afternoon of tubing on Monday; so we didn't do a whole lot.  For our noon meal we traveled north 3o minutes to eat at Lambert's. The food was great and everyone had enough left over to eat for supper!  We forgot the camera, so these pictures were taken with Ryan's cell phone which doesn't have flash; so the quality is lacking :-(

While some rested the others went swimming at the pool which was once again empty to our delight. Notice Matthew's great form coming down the slide ;-)

Monday, September 21st

Family Vacation

Day Two

In the morning, most of us went down to the lake behind our resort and went paddle boating and kayaking. 

In the afternoon we went tubing on Table Rock Lake for 4 hr.

The boat finally put John to sleep. It didn't last real long though as it was pretty windy and the ride was rough.

We took a little break from tubing and went into a cove, where the water was a little warmer, to do some swimming.

Ashley and Emily didn't want to go tubing by themselves, so Bethany rode with them.

On our way back to the resort we noticed the pool with the slide was empty, so we took opportunity to swim. That didn't last long though as a storm quickly moved in (notice the dark sky) and we all had to make a mad dash to the room.
